Today, I felt so blessed with the sermon. We have to be free from the shadow of our past.
David fasted for his no name child before the child passed away. However, after his son passed away, David did otherwise. He commanded the servant to prepare great supper.
That means that he wanted to be free from the shadow of his past. He didn't want to look back.
Nowadays, after facing failures, many people trap on their past. Some say "If only I still have this and that and this and that....". The thing is, we have to lock the gate that can bring us to our past and find a key to open a new gate that can let us move forward and be realistic about our future.
